Since 2002 Moana Moko have provided Taa-moko wananga (place of learning) throughout Aotearoa. In 2008 Moana Moko held their first international wananga in Newcastle, Australia.

National Wananga: Moana Moko endeavours to create a warm safe environment learn and recieve moko on your own marae or papakainga. We have been delivering wananga on Marae around the country for the past eight years. In our eyes there is no better place in the world to learn and receive moko then on your Marae surrounded by your whanau.

Each of our wananga include the following:

• Hikoi - Expedition to visit wahi tapu and other sites of significance. This helps the artist connect to the people and the land that they belong to.
• Workshops - Our workshops are aimed at informing people about moko and the process of taa-moko.
• Moko application - This is the ultimate to receive moko on your marae with the approval and mandate of your family and hapu.

Guest artist 'Serena Quinn' will be working with Moana Moko until the end of April. For any appointments and consultations please email or call into the shop.

Moana Moko will be heading over to Melbourne on the 26th of April - 1st May 2012 for the Rights of Passage Convention. If your interested in getting some moko done please email to pre book or call in and see us at our booth on the day.
